West African Teak (IROKO) is an extremely
durable timber. If left untreated it will gradually turn an
attractive silver grey colour.
As part of the weathering process and as
with all other hardwoods, the loss of moisture will produce
hair line cracking especially on the end grain but these are
perfectly normal and will in no way effect the strength or
durability of the furniture.
To minimise this a coat of good quality
woodstain can be used. The furniture will last with or without
treatment.
All our timbers are kiln dried and every
effort is made to ensure they are derived from only sustainable
sources.
